ADAPTATION OF THE RILEM-CEMBUREAU METHOD TO EXECUTE SPECIFIC TESTS ON MORTARS (IN FRENCH)

THE MEASUREMENT OF AIR CONTENT IN MORTARS IS BASED ON CALCULATIONS FROM THE APPARENT MEASURED WEIGHT PER UNIT VOLUME AS COMPARED WITH THE THEORITICAL ABSOLUTE WEIGHT PER UNIT VOLUME. THE MEASUREMENT OF THE BLEEDING IS BASED ON THE DISPLACEMENT OF A DENSE LIQUID (CARBON TETRACHLORIDE) BY THE WATER BLEEDING OUT OF THE MORTAR DURING THE SETTING INITIAL PERIOD. THE APPARATUS AND MEASURING METHODS ARE BASED ON THE A S T M C 185 NORM PRINCIPLES FOR THE AIR CONTENT MEASUREMENT AND ON THE A S T M C 243 NORM FOR THE BLEEDING MEASUREMENT. THE SIZES OF THE APPARATUS DESCRIBED IN THESE NORMS HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED IN THE C G S SYSTEM. THE CEMBUREAU MORTAR AND ITS MIXING CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN USED FOR THE MEASUREMENTS. THE PLACING OF THE MORTAR IS CARRIED OUT BY THE SHOCK APPARATUS RILEM-CEMBUREAU. THE ABOVE MENTIONED APPARATUS FOR THE BLEEDING MEASUREMENT ALLOWS TO CARRY OUT SUCH MEASUREMENT ON TWO SAMPLES SIMULTANEOUSLY. /LCPC/RRL/A/
