APPLICATION OF MINERALOGICAL METHODS TO THE HYDRAULIC BINDER INDUSTRY (CONTINUED) /IN FRENCH/

THE OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF MINERALS USUALLY FOUND IN CRUDE CEMENT ARE DESCRIBED. SOME DETAILS ON REACTIONS IN A CEMENT KILN ARE GIVEN. THE INTERPRETATION OF CLINKER MICROGRAPHIES AND MACROGRAPHIES IS DISCUSSED. A DESCRIPTION IS PRESENTED MINERAL BY MINERAL (TRI-CALCIUM SILICATE, SULPHUR, DICALCIUM SILICATE, TRI-CALCIUM ALUMINATE, TETRACALCIUM ALUMINOFERRITE PERICLASE AND FREE CALCIUM OXIDE). THE POSSIBLE FACIES AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF EACH GROUP ARE MENTIONED AS WELL AS THE IMPORTANCE OF THE METHOD USED FOR CEMENT BURNING. /LCPC/RRL/
