A PRODUCER VIEWS PLANT MIXED ASPHALTIC CONCRETE BASE COURSES - SYMPOSIUM - ASPHALT BOUND BASES
A BRIEF HISTORY IS GIVEN OF PRODUCTION OF PLANT-MIXED ASPHALTIC CONCRETE BASE COURSE. SPECIFICATIONS FOR SUCH BASE COURSES IN PENNSYLVANIA, NEW YORK, AND DELAWARE ARE DISCUSSED. THE GRADATIONS REQUIRED DIFFER MOSTLY IN THE AMOUNTS OF FINE AGGREGATE. SINCE REPORTS FROM AASHO ROAD TEST SEEM TO INDICATE THE SUPERIORITY OF PLANT-MIXED ASPHALTIC CONCRETE BASES, THE FUTURE APPEARS BRIGHT FOR THEIR USE.
