COMMENTS TO THE PROPOSED REVISION OF CEMENT STANDARD DIN 1164
THE DRAFT FOR THE NEW VERSION OF DIN 1164 CONTAINS SOME REVOLUTIONARY NEW FEATURES WHICH AIM AT REDUCING THE STRENGTH VARIATIONS OF DIFFERENT CEMENTS WITHIN THE OLD QUALITY CLASS DESIGNATIONS AND AT ENSURING GREATER UNIFORMITY OF THE INDIVIDUAL BRANDS AS WELL. THERE HAS ALREADY LONG BEEN A DEMAND FOR THIS AMONG A WIDE CIRCLE OF THOSE CONCERNED, BOTH IN THE CEMENT INDUSTRY AND IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. THE PRESENT DRAFT STANDARD EMBODIES A JOINT EFFORT BY REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PUBLIC AUTHORITIES, THE CEMENT INDUSTRY AND THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. IT IS THE RESULT OF YEARS OF THOROUGH PRELIMINARY WORK AND CONSULTATION WHICH CONCERNED A SET OF PROBLEMS WHICH ARE IN PART REVEALED IN THIS ARTICLE. /AUTHOR/
