SWAYING, ROLLING AND YAWING RESPONSE OPERATORS OF MOORED VESSELS
A method is described for obtaining the responses of moored vessels in sway, roll and yaw. It treats the linear coupling between the three modes for a given wave heading and assumes validity of the Foude-Kriloff theory (the waves act on the vessel but not vice versa). A computer program is developed to perform the numerical calculations for 27 systematic variations of the Series 60 hull form, and the results of these calculations are presented diagramatically as a function of the dimensionless parameter lambda/L (wavelength/ship length).
