SUBSTITUTION OF ALKALI OXIDE IN TRICALCIUM ALUMINATE /C3A/
IT IS GENERALLY BELIEVED THAT THE CRYSTALLINE PHASES IN PORTLAND CEMENT CLINKER ARE NOT PURE COMPOUNDS. THE PHASE REFERRED TO AS TRICALCIUM SILICATE IS KNOWN TO CONTAIN OTHER OXIDES SUCH AS ALUMINA AND MAGNESIA. TWO PAPERS ON THIS SUBJECT ARE DISCUSSED WHICH DETERMINE THE SOLUBILITY LIMITS OF SODIUM OXIDE AND POTASSIUM OXIDE IN TRICALCIUM ALUMINATE.
