THE BOILING METHOD IS A SATISFACTORY MEANS OF ACCELERATING THE STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT OF CONCRETE. THE GAIN IN STRENGTH DEVELOPED DEPENDS ON STRENGTH CHARACTERISTICS OF CEMENT AND STRENGTH LEVEL OF CONCRETE. THE ACCELERATED CURED /X/ AND 28 DAYS STANDARD CURED /Y/ STRENGTH CAN BE REPRESENTED BY THE RELATION Y _ X/ /0.000078X & 0.28/. FOR ROUTINE WORK THIS RELATIONSHIP IS INDEPENDENT OF CEMENT, AGGREGATES, AND ADMIXTURES USED. THE STRENGTH OF 28-DAY STANDARD CURED SAMPLE CAN BE PREDICTED FROM ACCELERATED STRENGTH WITHIN PLUS OR MINUS 12%.
