DETERMINATION OF THE MECHANICAL STRENGTH OF ASPHALTIC CONCRETE TAKING PLASTICITY AND SERVICE CONDITIONS OF THE SURFACING INTO ACCOUNT /IN RUSSIAN/
VARIATIONS IN THE MECHANICAL STRENGTH OF ASPHALTIC CONCRETE AS A FUNCTION OF LOAD DURATION ARE SHOWN TO DEPEND ON THE PLASTICITY OF THE MATERIAL. ATTENTION IS DRAWN TO THE NEED FOR TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE SERVICE TIME OF THE PAVEMENT AND FATIGUE STRENGTH WHEN DRAWING UP SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE STRENGTH OF ASPHALTIC CONCRETE. GUIDELINES ARE GIVEN FOR CALCULATING THE MINIMUM STRENGTH OF ASPHALTIC CONCRETE TO ENSURE HIGH SHEARING STRENGTH OF THE SURFACING AT HIGH TEMPERATURES, TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE EFFECT OF THE LOAD ON VARIOUS SECTIONS OF ROAD (STRAIGHT AND SLOPING SECTIONS, BRAKING ZONES). /LCPC/RRL/
