THE RE-COMPACTION OF FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS UNDER TRAFFIC /IN GERMAN/
INVESTIGATIONS SHOWED THAT RE-COMPACTION OF FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS UNDER TRAFFIC OCCURS WHEN OPTIMUM COMPACTION HAS NOT BEEN OBTAINED DURING PLACEMENT, AND MAY INCREASE THE BULK DENSITY OF THE STRUCTURE BY MORE THAN 3%. THESE PAVEMENTS ARE OFTEN DEFORMED LATER IN THE REGION OF THE VEHICLE TRACKS BY ABOUT 10 MM. GOOD COMPACTION DURING PLACEMENT CAN AVOID THIS TYPE OF DAMAGE. /FG/RRL/
