STUDY OF A PAVEMENT DEFLECTOGRAPH /IN PORTUGUESE/

THE AIMS ARE OUTLINED TOGETHER WITH THE IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY AS REGARDS THE OBSERVATION AND STRENGTHENING DESIGN OF PAVEMENTS BASED ON THE MEASUREMENT OF DEFLECTIONS. DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF THE ORIGINAL DEA BENKELMAN BEAM AND ITS BEHAVIOR AS REGARDS THE INERTIA OF MOVABLE PARTS, THERMIC VARIATION, WIND, RAIN AND VIBRATIONS. REASONS ARE GIVEN FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE FEELER ARM, THE DESIGN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ATTACHMENT AND NEW UNIT. THE TECHNIQUE CURRENTLY USED IN THE OPERATION OF THE APPARATUS IS DESCRIBED TOGETHER WITH THE REASONS THAT LED TO THE ADOPTION OF A DEFLECTION RECORDING SYSTEM. THE BEHAVIOR AND ACCURACY OF THE RECORDING DEVICE LINKED TO THE BENKELMAN BEAM ARE STRESSED AND SOME APPLICATIONS OF THE NEW DEFLECTOGRAPH (MODEL 1967) ARE DESCRIBED. /RRL/
