AN EVALUATION OF CONTINUOUS WIRE MESH REINFORCEMENT IN BITUMINOUS RESURFACING
DETAIL DESCRIPTIONS AND EVALUATIONS OF TWO PROJECTS CONTAINING WIRE REINFORCEMENT ARE PRESENTED. DATA INCLUDES PERFORMANCE OF BOTH NON-REINFORCED AND REINFORCED SURFACING. NO COMBINATION OF THICKNESS AND REINFORCEMENT WAS EFFECTIVE IN PREVENTING REFLECTION CRACKING OF TRANSVERSE JOINTS. OBSERVATIONS DO PROVIDE LIMITING DESIGN REQUIREMENTS TO LIMIT LONGITUDINAL JOINT CRACKING AND MINIMIZATION OF TRANSVERSE CRACKING. /NAPA/
