INFLUENCE OF THE COMPOSITION AND SURFACE TEXTURE OF ROAD CONCRETE ON SLIPPERINESS /GERMAN/
TO DETERMINE THE SLIPPERINESS OF CONCRETE ROADS WHEN NEW AND AFTER BEING SUBJECTED TO TRAFFIC FOR A LONG PERIOD, CYLINDRICAL SAMPLES HAVING VARYING SURFACE TEXTURES WERE TESTED IN THE LABORATORY ON A POLISHING MACHINE. THE HIGHEST COEFFICIENTS OF SLIDING WERE OBTAINED WITH WELL- DEFINED GROOVED SURFACES. ALTHOUGH THE ROUGHENED, SAND-PAPER FINISH WAS ALSO ACCEPTABLE. /RRL/
