PREPARATION PROPERTIES AND CORROSION RESISTANCE OF CEMENT MORTAR AND ORGANIC POLYMERS
POLYMER-CEMENT AND POLYMER-MORTAR COMPOSITES, BASED ON STYRENE AND MMA, HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATED AS TO METHODS OF PREPARATION, STRENGTH, CORROSION RESISTANCE AND OTHER PROPERTIES. METHODS OF INVESTIGATION EMPLOYED WERE: COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH MEASUREMENT, OPTICAL AND ELECTRON MICROSCOPY AS WELL AS OTHER PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL TESTS. REMARKABLE IMPROVEMENT IN STRUCTURAL PROPERTIES (THREE TO FOURFOLD INCREASE IN STRENGTH) AND CORROSION RESISTANCE WERE OBSERVED WHEN PREFORMED SPECIMENS WERE IMPREGNATED WITH MONOMER AND POLYMERISED. /AUTHOR/
