MEASUREMENT OF MOISTURE CONTENT OF CONCRETE
AS FAR AS THE ORDERING OF THE PROCESSES USED FOR THE CORRECT MEASUREMENT OF THE TOTAL CONTENT OF PHYSICALLY BOUND WATER IN CONCRETE IS CONCERNED, DIRECT METHODS (MEASUREMENTS ON THE ORIGINAL CONCRETE) ARE BETTER THAN INDIRECT METHODS. THE PRIMARY MEASURING EFFECTS (E.G., MEASURING THE DIELECTRIC NUMBER) IN PARTICULAR LIMITED PRIMARY METHODS (THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY, NEUTRON PROBES) ARE GENERALLY MORE ADVANTAGEOUS THAN THE SECONDARY ONES (ELECTRIC CONDUCTIVITY). FOR A GIVEN INTENSITY OF THE PRIMARY FAST NEUTRONS, THE INTENSITY OF THERMAL NEUTRONS IS A RELATIVE MEASURE FOR THE MOISTURE CONTENT IN THE CONCRETE SAMPLES. /DOT/
