INFLUENCE OF THE SPECIMEN CROSS-SECTION AREA ON THE STRENGTH AND DEFORMATION OF CONCRETE IN DIRECT TENSION
THE PROCEDURE USED TO STUDY THE BEHAVIOR OF SQUARE SAMPLES IN TENSION IS DESCRIBED. THE SAMPLES WERE PREPARED FROM 3 DIFFERENT CONCRETE FORMULAE AND 9 WATER/CEMENT RATIOS. RESULTS SHOWED THAT A VARIATION IN LENGTH, AND THAT THE STRENGTH LESS THAN A VARIATION IN LENGTH, AND THAT DEFORMATIONS ARE NOT VERY SENSITIVE TO THAT FACTOR. /TRRL/
