WET AND DRY CONCRETE SURFACES
THE AIM OF THIS BULLETIN IS TO DETERMINE THE INFLUENCE OF SURFACE HUMIDITY ON THE COLOR OF CONCRETE, THE EFFECT OF GRADING, TO PROPOSE PREVENTIVE MEASURES, AND TO PRESENT TEST RESULTS. IT IS CONCLUDED THAT COMPACT CONCRETE (WITH A LOW W/C RATIO AND HIGH PROPORTION OF CEMENT) DARKENS LESS AND FOR NOT AS LONG UNDER WET CONDITONS. SMOOTH SURFACES SEEM LESS PRONE TO CHANGES IN COLOR. TREATMENT WITH WATER REPELLENT AGENTS GIVES VERY SATISFACTORY RESULTS. /TRRL/
