DISPOSAL AND USES OF POWER PLANT ASH IN URBAN AREAS
CHEMICAL COMPOSITION, SPECIFIC GRAVITY, GRAIN SIZE DISTRIBUTION, COMPACTION CHARACTERISTICS, AND FIELD DENSITY TESTS OF WISCONSIN ELECTRIC POWER COMPANY ASHES, WHICH HAD BEEN REMOVED FROM FLUE GASES, ARE DESCRIBED. LANDFILL APPLICATIONS INCLUDE CONSTRUCTION OF BERMS FOR A RIFLE RANGE AND FILLING ON PROPERTY TO BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT, WHICH IS MADE POSSIBLE BY PROPER COMPACTION OF THE FLY ASH. UTILIZATION OF FLY ASH INCLUDES FLY ASH CONCRETE. OTHER USES OF FLY ASH ARE FOR POZZOLANIC BASE COURSE MATERIAL, ASPHALT FILLER MATERIAL, AND SEWAGE PLANT SLUDGE DEWATERING. /AUTHOR/
