LONGITUDINAL VENTILATION IN A HIGHWAY TUNNEL USING THE COANDA PRINCIPAL
THE ARTICLE BRIEFLY DISCUSSES THE USE OF JET PUMPS AND COANDA SURFACES TO ENSURE LONGITUDINAL VENTILATION IN A HIGHWAY TUNNEL. THIS FORM OF VENTILATION IS BEING USED BY THE TORONTO TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION TO VENTILATE A 1000-FT TWIN-TUBE TUNNEL AT THE LAWRENCE AVENUE STATION SUBWAY THAT WILL BE USED BY DIESEL ENGINED BUSES. A NUMBER OF OTHER APPLICATIONS MAKING USE OF THIS COANDA EFFECT FOR VENTILATION PURPOSES ARE MENTIONED. /TRRL/
