CONTRIBUTION TO THE ANALYSIS OF STRESSES IN PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAMS
A CURRENT PRACTICE IN THE ANALYSIS OF STRESSES IN PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAMS IS TO MAKE APPROXIMATE CALCULATIONS OF THE STRESSES BASED ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT A CRACKED BEAM IS A HOMOGENEOUS CROSS-SECTION. AN ATTEMPT IS MADE TO INVESTIGATE HOW FAR THIS ASSUMPTION CAN BE ACCEPTED IF SERIOUS ERRORS ARE TO BE AVOIDED. /TRRL/
