THE TORSIONAL STIFFNESS OF MULTICELLULAR RECTANGULAR BOX SECTIONS
A SIMPLE AND ACCURATE SOLUTION IS DERIVED FOR THE TORSION CONSTANT OF A MULTICELLULAR BOX SECTION OF UNRESTRICTED WALL THICKNESS. ITS CHARACTERISTICS ARE COMPARED WITH THOSE OF THE SAME SOLID SECTION. THE SOLUTION IS CONSIDERED IN RELATION TO ITS LIMITING VALUES AND TO THE APPROXIMATE SOLUTIONS THAT ARE COMMONLY ADOPTED. IT ALSO ENABLES THE MAXIMUM SHEAR STRESSES TO BE EVALUATED. /AUTHOR/
