EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS ON RESTRAINED NEOPRENE BEARINGS: I
NEOPRENE BEARING PADS, SANDWICHED BETWEEN STEEL PLATES, WERE SUBJECTED TO STATIC COMPRESSION, AND SHEAR COUPLED WITH COMPRESSION. THE BEHAVIOR OF THE PADS WAS STUDIED IN SHEAR DEFORMATION AND VERTICAL COMPRESSION UNDER DESIGN LOADS, THE STUDIES BEING EXTENDED TO OBSERVE FAILURE PATTERNS. SIMILAR TESTS WERE ALSO CONDUCTED ON TWO LAYERED PADS FORMED BY GLUEING TWO SINGLE LAYER RESTRAINED PADS. /TRRL/
