      <description><![CDATA[This article describes the iTravel Model Deployment Initiative, part of the TRANSCOM Program taking place in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area.  The article focuses on three traveler information services that will be offered by ITravel.  These include: the Transit Itinerary Planning System (TRIPS), providing complete transit schedules for the area; 2) the Traveler Information Center (TIC) which will provide real-time traffic and transit information via the Internet and a telephone call-in system; and, 3) Personalized Traveler Services (PTS), a subscription-based service that will notify individual travelers of real-time transportation information which affects their selected route and time of travel.  Outreach and marketing efforts for the projects are also discussed.]]></description>
