      <description><![CDATA[TRAINING PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED BY THE WISCONSIN DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS CENTRAL OFFICE MAINTENANCE SECTION FOR BOTH SUMMER AND WINTER MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES. BASIC TRAINING PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN ISSUED TO EACH OF THE DISTRICT MAINTENANCE SECTIONS WHO IN TURN HAVE HELD TRAINING SESSIONS IN EACH OF THE COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENTS. THE TRAINING PROGRAM HAS BEEN GEARED TO COMMUNICATE DIRECTLY WITH THOSE WHO PERFORM MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES SUCH AS THE PATROLMEN, FOREMEN, PATROL SUPERINTENDENTS, COUNTY HIGHWAY COMMISSIONERS, DISTRICT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISORS AND THEIR ASSISTANTS. FEEDBACK FROM EACH OF THE DISTRICT OFFICES HAS INDICATED THAT THE TRAINING PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN IMMENSELY SUCCESSFUL.
