THE APPLICATION OF FUZZY CONTROL TO AUTOMATIC TRAIN OPERATION

This paper presents an attempt to apply a fuzzy logic control method to an Automatic Train Operation system. It does this by directly modeling the behavior of a skilled driver and is based on the principle of Partition of Complex Process & Hierarchical Intelligent Control. The authors also present a new method to determine the firing strength of fuzzy rule which is the weighted sum of the membership of input variables.

CONTROL APPROACHES FOR ACTIVE LATERAL RAILWAY SUSPENSIONS

This paper presents a lateral railway suspension model. Three active control techniques are applied to it: linear optimal control complementary filter control, and semi-active control. The merits of each of these control strategies are examined by looking at their ride quality improvement and practicality of implementation.
