      <title>Safety Challenges of Tunnel Construction Management in Dense Urban Environments: Towards Better Risk Management</title>

      <description><![CDATA[Tunnels are important to today’s dense urban environments. Risk planning of such a tunnel construction includes the unique characteristics and environments, due to the high population, existing buildings, infrastructure, and transportation. However, the safety cognitive heterogeneity of tunnel construction in dense urban areas is not formalized even proper risk planning and management can help mitigate some of these challenges and ensure a successful project. Therefore, this paper examined the current practice, i.e., the safety cognitive heterogeneity involved in the decision-making process of tunnel constructions in dense urban areas from organizational, managerial, and technical. The main survey (96 responses from contractors) depicts that safety cognitive heterogeneity is available within 33 organizing criteria, 14 management criteria, and 55 technical criteria out of a total of 186 criteria. To better support the decision-making process, the authors will conduct in-depth expert interviews and investigate the heterogeneous preference to formalize the decision-making modeling.]]></description>

      <title>Research on Key Success Factors of China’s Urban Rail Transit PPP Project Based on SEM</title>

      <description><![CDATA[With the increasing expansion of China’s urban population and spatial planning, urban rail transit has gradually become a green public transportation mode given priority by people, and PPP mode has been widely used in urban rail transit construction projects. However, due to the characteristics of urban rail transit PPP project itself, such as high integration, large system, involving multi-parties, and so on, the successful construction of the project still has high cost, complex transaction structure, greater risks, and other problems. Therefore, this paper first starts from the key influencing factors, on the basis of literature review, combined with expert interviews, through the questionnaire and factor analysis method to determine the key influencing factors and classification. Secondly, structural equation model was used to explore the deep internal relationship and causative path of key influencing factors. The results show that personnel factors, transaction structure factors, environmental factors, policy factors, and project characteristics all have a significant impact on the success of urban rail transit PPP projects.]]></description>

      <title>Safety Risk Analysis of Precast Bridge Deck Hoisting Construction Based on Structural Entropy Weight Method</title>

      <description><![CDATA[Prefabricated bridge deck panel installation is the main construction process for the upper structure of bridge engineering and also a major source of danger. A scientific and accurate analysis of the safety risks in the construction of prefabricated bridge deck panel installation is of great significance to reducing construction safety accidents. Firstly, a construction safety risk index system was constructed from the dimension of risk sources, and then the structural entropy weight method was used to rank the importance. Finally, the Longlingshan Overpass Project in Wuhan City, China, was selected as a case study. The case study showed that the machinery is the most important primary index, and the maintenance and quality of the hoisting steel wire rope were the most important secondary index. Targeted countermeasures and suggestions were also proposed in this article.]]></description>

Based on the professional characteristics of high-speed rail construction projects, this study introduces the theory of project post-evaluation method, constructs a scientific and reasonable post-evaluation system of high-speed rail construction projects, and clarifies the key contents of post-evaluation of high-speed rail construction. The application of post-evaluation method system of high-speed rail project will provide necessary support for the subsequent planning and construction decision-making of high-speed rail project, and also provide reference for all sectors of society to understand the importance of high-speed rail project more clearly.]]></description>

      <title>Exploring the Morphology Characteristics of Health Risk Space in the Post-Epidemic Era: The Case of Guangzhou</title>

      <description><![CDATA[In the post-epidemic era, the notion of “healthy city” has received widespread attention. Due to the continuously increasing population mobility and complicated environmental system, some urban areas have become the potential health risk space. In existing studies, the identification of health risk space mainly concentrates on socio-demographic factors, while the corresponding space strategies are less touched. This study put forward 12 spatial indicators such as road environment, development density, building form, and ventilation potential to construct an indicator system. This study used random forest algorithm for in-depth learning of existing epidemic risk data, then optimized the spatial morphology based on the model results on the parametric platform, and proposed improvement strategies. The study found that the training model based on the spatial morphology indicators had a better identification accuracy (80.5%) than socio-demographic indicators. Results indicated that building patterns with large building intervals and excellent ventilation, multi-scale and scattered green open spaces, and small-scale and multi-functional communities could facilitate the decline of the health risk level.]]></description>

      <title>Review of Research and Application of BIM-GIS Integration in the Civil Engineering Industry</title>

      <description><![CDATA[With the rapid development of smart construction, BIM and GIS have become important tools for the informatization and intelligence of civil engineering. BIM provides information on the entire life cycle of buildings, while GIS provides geographic environmental information around buildings. Combining BIM and GIS can achieve comprehensive upgrades. Although certain achievements have been made in the application research of BIM and GIS, the technology and integration application of BIM+ GIS is still in the exploratory stage. This paper summarizes the current research and application status of BIM+ GIS, analyzes and discusses the technical compatibility of BIM and GIS, and introduces the application of BIM+ GIS technology in engineering construction, transportation, energy management, and smart cities. The challenges and bottlenecks in this field are also summarized, and the future development direction of BIM+ GIS technology is discussed. This paper provides a reference for the deepening research on the integration of the two technologies.]]></description>

      <title>Resilience Evaluation of Prefabricated Building Supply Chain Based on Set Pair Analysis</title>

      <description><![CDATA[Prefabricated buildings have become a key focus in China’s construction industry in recent years, with assembled building as a main development direction. The stability of the component supply chain plays a vital role in the construction of prefabricated buildings. This study first defined the resilience of the supply chain and established a corresponding index system. An evaluation model, based on interval intuition fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (IIAHP) and set pair analysis (SPA), was then proposed. The IIAHP method was used to address the uncertainty of expert opinions in weight calculation, while SPA was applied for static evaluation. The Resettlement Housing Project of Taohua South Road in Nanchang, China, was chosen for a case study. Results showed that the supply chain was robust, with the redundancy rate of component supply and emergency management ability being the main influencing factors. This paper concludes with several suggestions.]]></description>

This paper adopts the research methods of field research, historical collation, and longitudinal comparison to analyze and compare the differences in architectural style, design tendency, and building construction between the two countries during the colonial period, taking the station buildings built by Japan and Russia in Manchurian Railway as the entry point, and to provide renewal strategies for the subsequent protection and sustainable development of the station buildings of South Manchurian Railway.]]></description>

      <title>Research on the Strategy of Green Renewal of the Old City Neighborhood Scale in Beijing from the Perspective of Residents’ Daily Life</title>

      <description><![CDATA[The old city of Beijing represents the essence of the capital’s culture. Situated in Xicheng District, the Tianning Temple area is a blend of bungalow buildings and modern structures. The vicinity is rich in historical and cultural artifacts, and the transportation infrastructure is convenient. However, the area also faces numerous contradictions and challenges, such as inadequate living conditions and insufficient supporting facilities and infrastructure. In this context, the paper focuses on the residents’ daily life and adopts the old city neighborhood as the research scope. A comprehensive green evaluation framework is developed, encompassing seven dimensions: site ecology, buildings, spatial environment, culture, society, facilities, and governance. Drawing from the findings related to living environment, street space, infrastructure renovation, supporting facilities enhancement, and cultural heritage preservation, a green renewal strategy is proposed for the old city neighborhood.]]></description>

      <title>Dynamic Environmental Impact Assessment of Cross-Sea Bridge Mud Leakage</title>

      <description><![CDATA[Life cycle assessment (LCA) is an effective method for construction environmental impact assessment. However, the traditional LCA is suitable to assess the static process and it is challenging to use real-time information for dynamic assessment. In this study, the Bayesian update is introduced into the LCA to facilitate the dynamic assessment of environmental impact caused by serious mud leakage during the construction of the pile foundation of the cross-sea bridge. Through the Bayesian update, the real-time information is used to update and predict the subsequent conditions of construction, to provide recent information for the impact assessment of construction. This method makes it possible to carry out real-time preventions and control measures for environmental pollutions. Proposed method improves the accuracy of environmental impact assessment, and it could provide the on-site managers with informed environmentally-friendly construction decisions.]]></description>

      <title>Research on the Influence Factors of Road Traffic Accidents in Wuhan Based on Social Network Analysis</title>

It is significant to deeply analyze the causes and mechanisms of road traffic accidents for the sustainable development of cities. This study firstly collects the data of road traffic accident in Wuhan City from 2018 to 2022. Through analyzing the characteristics and causes of road traffic accidents in Wuhan City, the influencing factors of road traffic accidents are identified from the aspects of road conditions, traffic facilities, and personnel behavior. Secondly, social network analysis method (SNA) is adopted to construct the network correlation structure between various factors and assess their effect. Finally, based on the identified key influencing factors, this study conducts an in-depth analysis of the road traffic safety situation in Wuhan City, and provides recommendations for the government of Wuhan City to improve the safety of road traffic. The results of this study can assist the government in formulating more effective policies for traffic safety management and facilitate the sustainable development of urban construction.]]></description>
