SLIDING MODE OBSERVER DESIGN FOR AUTOMATIC STEERING OF VEHICLE

In this paper, the authors discuss the observer design problem for automatic steering control, focusing on the lateral motion of the vehicle. A sliding mode observer is designed such that the observation errors converge to zero asymptotically in finite time. Simulation results reveal that the design if effective.

URBAN INTELLIGENT TRAFFIC SYSTEM BASED ON MULTI-AGENT

This paper describes multi-agent coordination in urban traffic control, focusing on coordinating the signal of adjacent intersections in order to minimize the waiting vehicle's queue in the network. With multi-agent coordination, the Recursive Modeling Method (RMM) is used to select rational actions by examining the decision of other agents in making a distributed multi-agent environment. The paper describes how decision making using RMM and Bayesian learning can be applied to urban traffic control.

The proposed method consists of an integration of the different levels of the Real Time Traffic Control System (RT-TRACS) hierarchy for traffic signal control with the predictive ability of dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) models.

In this paper, the authors describe an Internet-based control architecture for providing an automated mechanism for real-time route guidance. It uses a high performance computing environment that is located at a remote site. A distributed computing paradigm known as the Beowulf Cluster is proposed for achieving the high performance computing environment for the online architecture.
