Combining these data with inverse dispersion modeling, the authors estimated BC and PN emission factors (EF[subscript BC] and EF[subscript PN]) for the mixed fleet, reflecting real-world driving conditions. The pollutants showed decreasing trends at both sites, but PN concentrations remained high at the canyon site considering the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations. BC concentrations declined more rapidly than PN concentrations, showing a −9.4% and −4.9% annual decrease at the canyon and −7.2% and −0.5% at the rooftop site in the years 2013–2019. The EF[subscript BC] and EF[subscript PN] trends showed that the mitigation strategies for reducing particulate emissions for on-road vehicles were successful over the study period. However, the introduction of biofuels in the vehicle fleet —ethanol and later rapeseed methyl ester (RME)— increased the concentrations of particles with Dₚ < 10 nm before the adoption of particulate filters in the exhausts. Stricter Euro emission regulations, especially with diesel particulate filters (DPF) in Euro 5, 6, and VI vehicles, led to 66% decrease in EF[subscript BC] and 55% in EF[subscript PN]. Real-world EFBC surpassed HBEFA (Handbook Emission Factors for Road Transport) database values by 2.4–4.8 times; however, direct comparisons between real-world and HBEFA EFPN are difficult due to differences in lower cut-off sizes and measurement techniques. The authors' results underscore the necessity for revising the HBEFA database, updating laboratory testing methods and portable emission measuring systems (PEMS) measurements to account for liquid condensate contributions to PN measurements.]]> Fri, 15 Mar 2024 16:34:47 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2350114 On the prediction of intermediate-to-long term bus section travel time with the Burr mixture autoregressive model https://trid.trb.org/View/2344977 Tue, 12 Mar 2024 09:32:07 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2344977 Developing a representative driving cycle for paratransit that reflects measured data transients: Case study in Stellenbosch, South Africa https://trid.trb.org/View/2329964 Mon, 11 Mar 2024 15:56:16 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2329964 Proposal of policies based on temporal-spatial dynamic characteristics and co-benefits of CO₂ and air pollutants from vehicles in Shanghai, China https://trid.trb.org/View/2309945 Mon, 11 Mar 2024 15:53:16 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2309945 State space model detection of driving fatigue considering individual differences and time cumulative effect https://trid.trb.org/View/2329609 Thu, 29 Feb 2024 15:53:45 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2329609 Tucker factorization-based tensor completion for robust traffic data imputation https://trid.trb.org/View/2340116 Wed, 28 Feb 2024 14:12:52 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2340116 Trends in road accidents on Brazil's highways: Evidence of persistence using fractional integration https://trid.trb.org/View/2221863 Mon, 26 Feb 2024 08:52:42 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2221863 Variational Bayesian Inference for Time Series Route Choice Model for Evaluating Flexible Measures for Time and Location https://trid.trb.org/View/2276965 Thu, 22 Feb 2024 16:14:06 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2276965 Review of anomaly detection in large span bridges: available methods, recent advancements and future trends https://trid.trb.org/View/2321699 Wed, 21 Feb 2024 16:47:39 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2321699 Does Crowding Have a More Complicated Effect on Public Transport Users with Respect to Perceived Travel Time? https://trid.trb.org/View/2341577 Wed, 21 Feb 2024 10:04:34 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2341577 Data-Driven Modeling of Urban Traffic Travel Times for Short- and Long-Term Forecasting https://trid.trb.org/View/2309228 Wed, 14 Feb 2024 09:15:49 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2309228 Australian infrastructure and transport statistics: yearbook 2023 https://trid.trb.org/View/2335106 Tue, 06 Feb 2024 09:05:51 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2335106 Road Network Running State Reliability Estimation Based on Travel Time Interval https://trid.trb.org/View/2237760 Wed, 31 Jan 2024 09:16:13 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2237760
