Cervical spine injuries occurred in 10.6 % of non-helmeted motorcycle drivers and in 9.5 % of helmeted motorcycle drivers (p<0.001). Helmet use was identified as an independent factor associated with lower mortality [OR 0.849 (0.809-0.891), p<0.001]. Helmet use is protective for severe head injuries and associated with decreased mortality. Helmet use was not associated with increased rates of cervical spine injuries. On the contrary, fewer injuries were observed in helmeted motorcycle drivers. Public health initiatives should be aimed at enforcement of universal helmet laws within the United States and across the world.]]> Wed, 20 Mar 2024 10:11:36 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2348158 Noncollision injuries to passengers on buses: A case study from China https://trid.trb.org/View/2343385 Wed, 20 Mar 2024 10:11:35 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2343385 Modeling occupant injury severities for electric-vehicle-involved crashes using a vehicle-accident bi-layered correlative framework with matched-pair sampling https://trid.trb.org/View/2343484 Wed, 20 Mar 2024 10:11:35 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2343484 Relationship of Whiplash Injury Metrics and Crash Pulse Severity to Injury Claim Rates https://trid.trb.org/View/2288479 Mon, 18 Mar 2024 17:19:56 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2288479 Are Front Crash Prevention Systems Less Effective at Preventing Rear-End Crashes Where Trucks and Motorcycles Are Struck? https://trid.trb.org/View/2321663 Mon, 18 Mar 2024 17:19:56 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2321663 A multi-year statistical analysis of driver injury severities in single-vehicle freeway crashes with and without airbags deployed https://trid.trb.org/View/2325734 Fri, 15 Mar 2024 16:34:35 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2325734 Preventing and mitigating truck crashes: results from 100 in-depth no-blame truck crash investigations https://trid.trb.org/View/2348536 Tue, 05 Mar 2024 13:51:34 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2348536 Data linkage in road safety: bridging the divide to support better health outcomes https://trid.trb.org/View/2348490 Tue, 05 Mar 2024 13:47:39 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2348490 Performance of Five-Point Seat Belt on Occupant Safety in Vehicle on Frontal Crash Test https://trid.trb.org/View/2348416 Mon, 04 Mar 2024 16:07:56 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2348416 Traffic Safety Evaluation of Lane Constrictor Intersections in Minnesota https://trid.trb.org/View/2343314 Fri, 01 Mar 2024 14:46:37 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2343314 Simulation-Based Approach to Investigate the Electric Scooter Rider Protection During Traffic Accidents (05-116) [supporting dataset] https://trid.trb.org/View/2343898 Fri, 01 Mar 2024 08:34:13 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2343898 Modeling injury severities of single and multi-vehicle freeway crashes considering spatiotemporal instability and unobserved heterogeneity https://trid.trb.org/View/2344884 Thu, 29 Feb 2024 11:33:04 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2344884
