Cervical spine injuries occurred in 10.6 % of non-helmeted motorcycle drivers and in 9.5 % of helmeted motorcycle drivers (p<0.001). Helmet use was identified as an independent factor associated with lower mortality [OR 0.849 (0.809-0.891), p<0.001]. Helmet use is protective for severe head injuries and associated with decreased mortality. Helmet use was not associated with increased rates of cervical spine injuries. On the contrary, fewer injuries were observed in helmeted motorcycle drivers. Public health initiatives should be aimed at enforcement of universal helmet laws within the United States and across the world.]]> Wed, 20 Mar 2024 10:11:36 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2348158 Motorcycle-related crashes before and during the COVID-19 pandemic: A comparative retrospective observational study from the Middle East https://trid.trb.org/View/2348157 Wed, 20 Mar 2024 10:11:36 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2348157 Are Front Crash Prevention Systems Less Effective at Preventing Rear-End Crashes Where Trucks and Motorcycles Are Struck? https://trid.trb.org/View/2321663 Mon, 18 Mar 2024 17:19:56 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2321663 A Safe Systems Approach to Motorcycle Safety https://trid.trb.org/View/2350687 Thu, 14 Mar 2024 09:38:05 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2350687 A comparative study of road traffic violation between Thai and Japanese teenagers https://trid.trb.org/View/2329969 Thu, 29 Feb 2024 15:53:45 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2329969 Prevalence of and intent behind motorcyclists' violations at railway crossings in Indonesia: Modeling behavior and learning lessons from a developing country https://trid.trb.org/View/2326189 Thu, 29 Feb 2024 11:32:02 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2326189 Risk factors of road traffic injuries among motorcyclists in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania https://trid.trb.org/View/2344829 Tue, 27 Feb 2024 14:26:38 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2344829 Classifying Motorcyclist Behaviour with XGBoost Based on IMU Data https://trid.trb.org/View/2343339 Fri, 23 Feb 2024 11:28:27 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2343339 Investigate the Impact of Rumble Strips on Motorcyclists https://trid.trb.org/View/2342050 Tue, 20 Feb 2024 12:07:32 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2342050 Impact of the health crisis, COVID 19, on compliance with safety rules by type of user: Comparative analysis of car drivers and motorcyclists https://trid.trb.org/View/2326554 Wed, 14 Feb 2024 14:42:54 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2326554 Heat-induced risks of road crashes among older motorcyclists: Evidence from three motorcycle-dominant cities in Taiwan https://trid.trb.org/View/2322870 Wed, 14 Feb 2024 14:42:54 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2322870 A bibliometric analysis of motorcycle studies in Asia: From 1971 to 2022 https://trid.trb.org/View/2337296 Wed, 14 Feb 2024 14:33:19 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/2337296
