This new fuel was extensively characterized and has a lower density, viscosity and bulk modulus as compared to conventional diesel fuel. These physical property differences lead to later Start of Injection times in three diesel engines (AM General GEP, Waukesha CFR and Yanmar). However, due to the increased reactivity of DSH, ignition delay is reduced - faster across most of the speeds and loads tested. While engine operation on the neat form of DSH falls just inside the proposed Navy alternative fuel acceptance criteria at all operating points, it is expected that a 50% DSH and 50% diesel fuel blend will be tested for broader application due to acceptable combustion characteristics in this compression-ignition study.]]> Thu, 05 Jan 2017 16:23:58 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1433888 An Optimal Cane Delivery Scheduling Approach https://trid.trb.org/View/1436978 Fri, 30 Dec 2016 13:57:28 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1436978 Keep carrying the cane https://trid.trb.org/View/1376256 Wed, 23 Dec 2015 08:12:48 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1376256 New Concept to Obtain Higher Yields of Pyrolytic Sugars for Ethanol Production https://trid.trb.org/View/1367953 Thu, 03 Sep 2015 13:51:07 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1367953 Novel pathways for fuels and lubricants from biomass optimized using life-cycle greenhouse gas assessment https://trid.trb.org/View/1358737 95% yields into trimer condensates, which can then be hydrodeoxygenated in near-quantitative yields to give a new class of cycloalkane compounds. The basic chemistry developed here can be tailored for aviation fuels as well as lubricants by changing the production strategy. The authors also demonstrate that a sugarcane biorefinery could use natural synergies between various routes to produce a mixture of lubricant base oils and jet fuels that achieve net life-cycle greenhouse gas savings of up to 80%.]]> Fri, 26 Jun 2015 13:43:39 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1358737 High-yield hydrogen production from biomass by in vitro metabolic engineering: Mixed sugars coutilization and kinetic modeling https://trid.trb.org/View/1351355 Mon, 27 Apr 2015 09:49:01 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1351355 A study on the performance of sugarcane fibre in stone matrix asphalt https://trid.trb.org/View/1253084 Wed, 19 Jun 2013 15:14:35 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1253084
