Dog-vehicle collisions were related to the traffic intensity of the roads and they were more frequent around dawn and dusk, coinciding with the peaks of activity of dogs. This pattern was consistent throughout the week, although on weekends there were fewer collisions due to lower traffic density at those times. These findings suggest that the aggregation of dog-vehicle collisions around twilight likely resulted from a combined effect of the activity peaks of dogs and traffic density. Seasonally, collisions increased in autumn and winter, coinciding with the period of intense hunting activity in the region. Further, during autumn and winter, rush hour partly overlaps with twilight due to longer nights in comparison with summer and spring, which may contribute to the increased rate of dog-vehicle collisions in these seasons. Spatially, satellite images of nighttime lights showed that dog-vehicle collisions were clustered near urban areas. Overall, the high incidence of stray dogs involved in animal-vehicle collisions highlights a road safety issue with this type of animals in the region.]]> Tue, 21 May 2019 11:06:32 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1605804 Spatial Temporal Analysis of Freight Flow through Indian Major Seaport System https://trid.trb.org/View/1597552 Wed, 24 Apr 2019 09:30:37 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1597552 A case study in spatial-temporal accessibility for a transit system https://trid.trb.org/View/1579513 Wed, 27 Feb 2019 09:40:51 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1579513 The impact of temporal resolution on public transport accessibility measurement: Review and case study in Poland https://trid.trb.org/View/1579512 Wed, 27 Feb 2019 09:40:51 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1579512 Travel mobility and social participation among older people in a transit metropolis: A socio-spatial-temporal perspective https://trid.trb.org/View/1568456 Wed, 21 Nov 2018 11:19:07 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1568456 Fukushima Nuclear Disaster displacement: How far people moved and determinants of evacuation destinations https://trid.trb.org/View/1567707 Tue, 20 Nov 2018 10:11:57 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1567707 Temporal framing of stated preference experiments: does it affect valuations? https://trid.trb.org/View/1540697 Thu, 27 Sep 2018 16:10:35 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1540697 Adding temporal information to direct-demand models: Hourly estimation of bicycle and pedestrian traffic in Blacksburg, VA https://trid.trb.org/View/1532445 Mon, 17 Sep 2018 10:32:13 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1532445 Wildlife-vehicle collisions in Lanzarote Biosphere Reserve, Canary Islands https://trid.trb.org/View/1517674 Thu, 19 Jul 2018 14:45:31 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1517674 Comparative evaluation of temporal correlation treatment in crash frequency modelling https://trid.trb.org/View/1516369 Thu, 19 Jul 2018 14:45:27 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1516369
