They test the relationships of three alternative centrality indices – closeness, betweenness, and eigenvector – capturing different dimensions of network-wide connectedness with housing price, independently and in combination. They employ two alternative network weights to derive centrality considering peak-period and off-peak travel conditions and road transportation network performance. They address the spatial autocorrelation issue to derive robust evidence on the centrality-price relationship. The authors' results suggest that centrality is an intrinsic location advantage that positively influences urban housing price. Different centrality indices have different effects on price but they collectively reinforce each other. The estimated magnitudes of association between centrality indices and housing price are significant for policy and practice. In addition to contributing to scholarship in the domain of transportation planning, their research offers specific takeaways for metropolitan planning agencies and real-estate developers, especially in resource constrained geographic contexts.]]> Fri, 30 Sep 2022 14:27:30 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1996631 National legal regulations and location of noise barriers along the Polish highway https://trid.trb.org/View/1990502 Thu, 21 Jul 2022 11:42:50 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1990502 Assessment of Railroad Property Leasing Practices in North Dakota https://trid.trb.org/View/1907117 Tue, 15 Feb 2022 16:42:54 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1907117 JUE Insight: Are City Centers Losing Their Appeal?
