In this manuscript a lab-scale anodization setup is used to investigate the interplay between process parameters, oxide layer morphology and corrosion protection capability. The influence of high anodization steps (AS) and low rest steps (RS) in pulsed anodization waveforms is investigated with respect to the homogeneity and compactness of the obtained oxide layers. In comparison with a conventional set of anodization parameters, which is taken as a standard, the following level of performance are achieved: 1) increase of the corrosion potential (Ecorr) of +98mV; 2) increase of the anodic breakdown potential (Ebp) of +362mV; 3) reduction of the corrosion rate of a factor six; and 4) a polarization resistance 1.5 times higher. This work identifies key parameters in the anodization of Aluminum-Silicon alloys and propose new electrochemical figures of merit in order to: a) extend the corrosion resistance of future braking systems; and b) evaluate ex-situ the anodic layer electrochemical performance.]]> Tue, 17 Nov 2020 18:51:33 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1745899 Influence of Primary Silicon Precipitates on Anodized Aluminum Alloys Surface Layer Properties https://trid.trb.org/View/1529944 Mon, 17 Sep 2018 17:19:22 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1529944 The Cathodic Breakdown Test to Assess Chromic Acid Anodized Aluminum Alloys Corrosion Protection Performance, in Correlation with Salt Spray (Fog) Testing https://trid.trb.org/View/1136741 Wed, 25 Apr 2012 08:35:55 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1136741 Effects of Concrete Mix on Initiation of Reinforcement Corrosion and Chloride Threshold Level https://trid.trb.org/View/1092749 Mon, 18 Apr 2011 12:24:29 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/1092749 Corrosion Protection of Fiber-Reinforced Polymer-Wrapped Reinforced Concrete https://trid.trb.org/View/926000 Thu, 19 Aug 2010 11:18:28 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/926000 Effect of Type of Anodic Arrangements on Efficiency of Electrochemical Chloride Removal from Concrete https://trid.trb.org/View/793195 Wed, 01 Nov 2006 07:27:40 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/793195 Innovative Corrosion Mitigation Solutions for Existing Concrete Structures https://trid.trb.org/View/778414 Wed, 15 Mar 2006 08:24:26 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/778414 GALVASHIELD EMBEDDED ANODES https://trid.trb.org/View/700300 Thu, 15 Apr 2004 00:00:00 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/700300 EFFECTS OF NITRITE-BASED CORROSION INHIBITOR ON CONCRETE'S RAPID CHLORIDE PERMEABILITY VALUES AND ITS DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES https://trid.trb.org/View/658676 Wed, 23 Aug 2000 00:00:00 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/658676 THE CONDITIONS OF CATHODIC PROTECTION FOR AL-MG ALLOY https://trid.trb.org/View/479873 Thu, 27 Mar 1997 00:00:00 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/479873 OINOUSSIAN FATHER FITTED WITH CATHELCO ANTI-FOULING SYSTEM https://trid.trb.org/View/457042 Wed, 27 Mar 1996 00:00:00 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/457042 CATHODIC PROTECTION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BRIDGE DECKS https://trid.trb.org/View/448662 Wed, 06 Dec 1995 00:00:00 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/448662 THE EFFECT ON TIN-ACTIVATED ALUMINIUM-ALLOY ANODES OF THE ADDITION OF BISMUTH https://trid.trb.org/View/449006 Mon, 14 Aug 1995 00:00:00 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/449006 PERFORMANCE TESTING OF INDIUM-ACTIVATED ALUMINIUM ANODES IN SEAWATER https://trid.trb.org/View/439452 Mon, 14 Aug 1995 00:00:00 GMT https://trid.trb.org/View/439452
