      <description><![CDATA[This report represents a continuation of analysis concerned with the patterns and methods of distributing grain from North Dakota. The collection and compilation of this type of data began in 1956-57. The objectives of this report, like prior reports, are to provide the necessary database for identifying trends in the distribution of grain and oilseeds from North Dakota. Data are tabulated according to major characteristics which typically describe commodity flows. The major shipment characteristics considered are destination, mode, origin, time and commodity. These characteristics are defined as follows: (1) Destination: Minneapolis-St. Paul, Duluth-Superior, Pacific Northwest (ID, OR, WA), Other Minnesota/Wisconsin, Midland & Gulf states (AR, AZ, CA, CO, IA, KS, LA, MO, MT, NE, NM, NV, OK, SD, TX, and WY), North Dakota and other destinations. (2) Mode: Rail or truck. Rail includes Commodity Credit Corporation shipments. (3) Origin: The nine crop reporting districts in North Dakota. (4) Time: By month, from July 2024 to June 2025, and previous years. (5) Commodity: Hard red spring wheat, durum, barley, sunflower, soybeans, corn, canola, dry edible beans, and dry edible peas. The data used to analyze North Dakota grain distribution patterns for the period July 2024 through June 2025 were obtained from all country elevators in North Dakota. The data source is the North Dakota Department of Agriculture’s “Grain Movement Report.” Every country elevator in North Dakota is required under state statute to assemble and submit a “Grain Movement Report” to the North Dakota Department of Agriculture on a monthly basis.]]></description>

This report and the statistics mailed to individual elevators are presented as a source of information for elevator managers and those interested in the North Dakota grain industry. Continuation of the report as an annual project will be considered based on public response. The distribution and shipment data in this report were developed from the North Dakota Department of Agriculture reports that require elevators to report monthly movements of grains and oilseeds by truck and rail. The elevator storage capacities reported to the North Dakota Department of Agriculture were used to calculate the turnover ratios. Elevator size is estimated based on public data sources.       <title>Method and Results of the Most Efficient Means of Transport Selection for Executing Orders of the Grain Crops Delivery</title>

      <description><![CDATA[The analysis of the state of development and use of intelligent decision-making support systems in road transport logistics systems has been carried out. The expediency of selecting the most efficient means of transport for executing orders of the grain crops delivery from agricultural enterprises to the grain elevator on the basis of technologies of computational intelligence has been substantiated. A method for selecting the most efficient means of transport executing orders of the grain crops delivery from agricultural enterprises to the grain elevator is proposed. It involves three stages with the use of machine-learning, in particular the grounded RF random forest model for predicting the specific fuel consumption by vehicles. The proposed method ensures that many factors of the production conditions are taken into account, allowing accurate results in the selection of efficient vehicles. On the basis of the developed method and computer model, the selection of the most efficient means of transport for executing orders of the grain crops delivery from agricultural enterprises to the elevator by the criterion of the minimum prime costs of executing the orders under given production conditions was elaborated. It has been determined that the prime costs of the execution of orders of the grain crops delivery from agricultural enterprises to the grain elevator varies in the range from 16.5 to 33.3 UAH/km. The obtained results of the researches are designed to be used by the managers of transport enterprises that organize the grain crops delivery from agricultural enterprises to the grain elevator.]]></description>

      <title>Multiple Car Rates and Merchandising Methods</title>

      <description><![CDATA[The grain handling and transportation system in North Dakota is experiencing tremendous infrastructural change. Multiple car grain rates, rail line abandonments, energy considerations and technological advances are corollary factors, among others, influencing this transition. Managers of country elevators are faced with decisions concerning capital investment, mergers and/or consolidations, marketing techniques, marketing instruments, plant location, and others. The current response has been to develop a marketing system that will attain efficiencies in both grain handling and transportation. There are economic incentives to develop a system of large country elevators (subterminals) that are capable of shipping grain in multiple car segments. However, many factors must be considered before such a system is developed.]]></description>
