ECONOMICS OF TRANSPORTATION CORRIDORS: AN EMPIRICAL EVALUATION
THIS STUDY, A CONTINUATION OF WORK THAT FOCUSED INITIALLY ON CREATING AN ANALYTICAL FRAMEWORK WITHIN WHICH TRANSPORTATION CORRIDORS MIGHT BE EVALUATED, COMPARES TANGIBLE BENEFITS AND COSTS ON THE BASIS OF EMPIRICAL RESULTS FROM THE GREATER VANCOUVER AREA OF BRITISH COLUMBIA, WHICH HAS A POPULATION OF APPROXIMATELY 1.1 MILLION PEOPLE. THREE AREAS FOR FURTHER RESEARCH AND APPLICATION ARE NOTED AND DISCUSSED. FINALLY, SEVERAL TENTATIVE CONCLUSIONS ARE DRAWN AND DISCUSSED ALONG WITH THEIR IMPLICATIONS FOR DECISION-MAKING AND POLICY. /AUTHOR/
