The Problem of Erodibility of Tropical Soils and Airports
O Problema Da Erodibilidade De Solos Tropicais Em Aeroportos
This paper presents a treatment of erodibility problems of tropical soils in some of the airports in Brazil and the paper focuses on an approach concerning practical cases. The use of a new abacus for erodibility prevision of these soils based on MCT–M and suction methodologies is discussed in order to permit the analysis of how such abacus is able to support erosion soils studies. The results obtained are promising for airport cases when soil genesis is considered and a systematical utilization of such abacus as an auxiliary tool is proposed for studies related to soils erosion.
