A Tool for Airport Terminal Manager: The Tepax
Uma Ferramenta Para Operadores De Um Terminal Aeroportuario: O Tepax
This paper describes how air transport passengers tend more and more to demand high standards in levels of service. Speed, comfort and safety are essential. However, for air companies, the costs should be the smallest possible so that the public will be able to use this transport mode. In the study-group about airports a software program (TePax), which allows the user to simulate the operation of some components of the passengers terminal in an airport is being developed. In this first version of the software there are two blocks available: one of them analyzes the check-in and the other one works with baggage. Researches in the airports of Porto Alegre, Curitiba and Belo Horizonte subsidized the values attributed to several parameters. TePax is the fruit of hundreds of interactions that are accomplished in the Arena platform with several possible values being made in the programming in Delphi and in Fortran.
