Transed 2004. Universal Transportation and Road Design: Strategies for Success
The 21st century will be a new age of social welfare and infrastructure including transportation. The theme of mobility and transport for the elderly and disabled people used to be in the special field until the middle of the former century. Now it strongly affects the other fields and it is getting to be an important part of new social environment science and social politics, crossing traditional fields, transport planning, urban planning, social welfare, economy, rehabilitation and many other fields. The themes and topics of this conference have been spreading from developed countries to developing countries that include Asian and African countries in the twenty-seven years since this conference started. Asian countries have many problems of mobility and transport for the elderly and disabled in spite of their remarkable economic growth.
