Chauffeur Services for Children

Leipzig, like many cities in Germany, is experiencing a steady rise in birth rate. Transporting these children between education facilities, care services and home can be a time-consuming chore for parents. This article describes a service called L.E. Kids on Tour, which provides low-cost transportation for children in the Leipzig area. L.E. Kids on Tour operates in cooperation with area schools, nurseries, child minders, medical centers and holiday facilities. The service employs primarily older, retired men and women as drivers for the children. Prices consist of a flat fare and a kilometer fare, and are slightly higher than local taxi services. Advance prebooking usually ensures that a family is given its appointed day, place and time. L.E. Kids on Tour can also be used to transport seniors and material goods.
