Recent Experiences of Reinforced Soil Retaining Structure in China
This chapter describes how the applications of a retaining structure reinforced by synthetics have been widely developed in China. The retaining walls and steeped slopes have been used in many projects, such as the sidewall of a sluice, a highway the abutment and pier of a bridge. The main cases and related studies on the model tests and the methods of design and construction are presented.
