The Influence of Resources on the Implementation of Quality Procedures in MET Systems and Safety at Sea (IRMETS)

This paper describes how the intensive development of various types of very important and useful regulations and standards in the shipping industry in recent years, in a lot of cases, is not sufficiently coordinated with the quantity and quality of resources to meet them and ensure their proper implementation. This paper presents the project sponsored by the Nippon Foundation that describes some formal approaches in the analysis of Human Element impact on safety and security in the shipping industry and MET efficiency.
