FILTRATION PERFORMANCE OF TWO-LAYER GEOTEXTILE SYSTEMS
The objective of this study is to investigate the filtration capacity of two-layer geotextile filter system with two different geomaterials. To meet this objective, a testing program that included gradient ratio tests was implemented. Various woven geotextiles and woven/nonwoven geotextile combinations were tested with fly ash and bottom sea dredged sediments as part of the program. The results of the tests showed that both fly ash and dredged sediments could be successfully filtered by a variety of woven geotextiles and woven/nonwoven combinations.
