DEVELOP PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS FOR FRONTAL COLLISION WARNING SYSTEMS FOR TRANSIT BUSES
The frontal collision warning function has been identifies as one of the key safety improvement measures initiated for the transit vehicle platform in the Intelligent Vehicle Initiative (IVI) program of the U.S. Department of Transportation. The paper discusses the performance specifications being developed and validated for the Frontal Collision Warning System (FCS)for transit buses.
