OCEAN CARRIERS
The article discusses the emergence of worldwide intermodal transportation network, with a center in Elizabeth, New Jersey, that is currently linked with 63 countries throughout the Far East, Europe, Middle East, Caribbean and Central America. The pioneer project, began in 1962, has made Elizabeth into one of world's busiest containership terminals. Sea-Land, the company that 'built' Elizabeth facility, considers the facility not a company asset but the enhancement of service that the asset allows one to provide customers.
