THE ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF THE TANZANIA TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER (T2) CENTRE
The Tanzania Technology Transfer (T2) Centre was set up in 1997 by the Tanzania Ministry of Works in cooperation with the University of Dar Es Salaam and support by the U.S. Federal Highway Administration. This paper outlines the background leading to the establishment of the T2 Centre, the process undertaken, and the difficulties and problems experienced. Also discussed are operations and programs conducted to date, successes achieved, and strategies being explored to enhance capacity and make the Centre semi-autonomous and sustainable.
