THE USE OF PIPELINES FOR URBAN DISTRIBUTION OF GOODS. IN: TRANSPORT LOGISTICS
This paper examines the concept of pipeline as a sealed dedicated transport way through which any product can be propelled, along the lines of an underground railway 'tube'. The paper examines existing literature that has references to this class of transportation system that propells passenger or freight in vehicles in continuous tubes between terminals. The paper also further subdefines the type of propulsion system used: pneumatics have predominated although water and linear induction are also in development.
