INSOURCING. IN: TRANSPORT LOGISTICS
The paper's aim was to answer some of the following questions: why companies use in-house distribution; what are the circumstances under which in-house distribution is the most cost-effective option; is there a renaissance in the field of own-account distribution; is it possible to predict through a company's circumstances whether or not that company should contract out; and, will the trend towards contracting out continue, or be halted or reserved, by an increasingly more professional in-house sector.
