SEARCHING FOR EFFECTIVE EVALUATION SCALE OF ROAD PAVEMENT FRICTION COEFFICIENT
In the paper the problem of reliability of measurement results for road pavement friction coefficient has been addressed - run with different methods and using different measurement devices to evaluate skid resistance characteristics of road pavements. Also standardised methodology of determining road pavement friction coefficient has been addressed, postulated by PIARC to be done in homogeneous, universal scale, in the form of international Friction Index (IFI) - taking into consideration as a necessary condition, a texture measurement at a given road section.
