THE MECHANISTIC-EMPIRICAL ROAD PAVEMENT DESIGN PROCEDURE
In the year 1987 the catalogue of flexible and cement concrete pavement structures prepared on the basis of original analytical design method was published. This paper deals with improving the design procedure for flexile pavements on the basis of new theoretical knowledge and experiences with new and modified road building materials and results of the asphalt pavements condition survey. The research of theoretical problems resulted in innovation of design method using fatigue strength as a criterion and improved procedure for the mechanistic analysis of pavement structure.
