RAILWAY MATERIALS PERFORMANCE EVALUATION AND DIAGNOSTICS - PRESENT STATUS AND FUTURE PROBLEMS
For the purpose of applying reasonably good materials in railway, it is important that the assessment methods for development of them are fit for practical conditions. Additionally, an adequate diagnostic technology for the maintenance has to be established for the sake of preventing the damages to materials and evaluating the deterioration and corrosion of them. The recent research and developments in the field are briefly reviewed and the future requirements are forecast.
